Batteries used at home and in the office are generally non rechargeable and used in torches, clocks, test equipment and a multitude of other conveniences. Only you know what you need them for.
Heavy duty batteries (Carbon) are cheap these days but just don't have the capacity of the alkaline which are far more cost effective. The small price difference is out weighed by the extra capacity and reliability for your safety and or enjoyment.
In our battery listing, I have listed alkaline batteries to give you the best for you dollar. Shelf life is generally around 3 years so it is sensible to by the biggest number at any one time as you feel you will use. You will be reducing the price per battery to a wholesale level - makes sense.
